Background The Agricultural Census is a nationwide statistical exercise conducted periodically to assess the structure and dynamics of Pakistan’s agriculture sector. It provides foundational data for planning, policy-making, and resource allocation in agriculture and rural development.

Objectives The report aims to quantify key agricultural assets, practices, and demographics across Pakistan. It supports evidence-based decision-making for food security, land reforms, and sustainable agricultural growth.

Methodology The census employed a comprehensive field enumeration approach, covering all provinces, regions, and administrative units. Data was collected from farming households, landowners, and tenants using structured questionnaires. The sampling frame included over 4 million agricultural holdings across Pakistan’s rural landscape.

Main Indicators Key indicators include land ownership and tenancy status, irrigation sources, machinery and equipment usage, crop patterns, and livestock statistics. These metrics offer insights into agricultural productivity, resource distribution, and sectoral challenges.
